Bicycles
I love bicycles and riding bicycles.
Moving on 2 wheels is like riding a magic carpet, to me. Doing it under your own power is like BEING the magic!
It's been 135 or so years ago that someone thought up the modern bicycle. Probably after roads got good enough for wheels to work using human power to pedal and using a chain (the modern "safety bicycle").
I started riding right after getting a hand-me-down tricycle, then a hand-me-down bicycle. When I turned 16 and got a job, my first paycheck went to a sweet Schwinn World Tour (12 speed with light, generator and rack!) I didn't ride that enough, and gave up riding until I was 29.
That year, I read an article in J.A.M.A. (Journal of the American Medical Association) that said your weight at 30 is the minimum you'll attain the rest of your life, and will slowly go up as you age. I had less than a year before my Minimum!!! I started going to the gym, then riding a mountain bike, then racing mountain bikes, then road riding, then some longer road rides (50, 75, 100).
I didn't lose much weight, but I sure rearranged the weight I had!
It's been almost 2 years off the bike for ... reasons ... hopefully soon I'll be back.
