Work Work Work Work Work Play Play
Does that seem fair? Seems to me that work overpowers play. It is the way of the world, and used to be WORSE for the working poor (way better for the few rich).
My brother told me a long time ago (in the 90s?) that you don't get rich working for the man. They have no interest in you getting rich. I'm an open-minded person, and also took that to mean they don't care if you are rich in other ways (like time with family or out in nature or for art).
Quickly in my career I discovered this to be COMPLETELY true. A company I worked for said "work/life balance is important!" but always wanted many more hours than is healthy from its employees.
Profit wins! It always does. So, I figured the only way to combat this is to BECOME the MAN. I worked for myself for 20 years because of this, and my boss (me) was still hard on me! But, better than any other boss I had.
